Before getting into the two products, I need to tell you that these are not whitening products; they primarily aim at unifying your skin tone, not making it lighter.
Living in a hot and sunny climate like Oman’s and being out all day everyday means being exposed to the sun a lot! This increases the chance of getting an imbalanced skin tone and sun spots. Although using sunscreen with a high SPF and a broad UV is not optional (I’ve been using the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer), it is important that you treat your skin as it ages to avoid long term effects of the sun on your skin.
I ordered the night cream from The Beauty Factory a couple of months ago, and I haven’t gone a night without using it. It’s a handmade product with the main ingredients being Lemon. With its creamy consistency it is absorbed by the skin quickly and it has noticeably changed the way my skin looks and feels. It does have a rose scent which doesn’t bother me but if your skin is sensitive to lemon it might not suit you. I now wake up with a more even skin tone and a brighter complexion. I couldn’t recommend this product more.
As for the second product, the Clarins Mission perfection Serum, I picked it up a couple weeks ago and the idea of it reminded me of the Lancôme DreamTone Serum. The Lancôme DreamTone Serum was an overpriced product I regretted purchasing because it really didn’t do much to my skin. The Clarins Mission perfection Serum comes in a medium sized light weight plastic packaging with a pump dispenser, making it easy to travel with. I’ve been using it in the mornings and evenings before applying my creams and have noticed that my makeup goes on more smoothly and the texture of my skin is smoother. I do feel I will run out of it quickly because I need two pumps every time I apply it.
These products are fantastic, but if I ran out of them, I would definitely purchase the night cream again but with the price tag of the Clarins serum, I’m still not convinced it is worth a repurchase. The Beauty Factory is opening their first store on the 18th of November 2015; which is very exciting! And will have the Night Cream available for RO 5. Clarins Mission Perfection Serum is available at Muscat Pharmacy Cosmetics and retails for RO 37.
