It isn’t often that I go out to explore different brands and types of cotton pads, so when I ran out of the one I had and discovered there are many brands and types out there, I decided it was time to go out on the hunt for the best cotton pad for facial use.
The criteria that I put down for my ideal find was based on the following:
Texture: Although all types may look the same, some have a textured side on one end, and a smooth side on the other end. However, not all of them are gentle on the skin – always look for 100% natural cotton, not chemically treated and lint free to prevent purchasing harsh cotton pads.
Function: What really puts me off a cotton pad is when it leaves fluff on the skin after I finish removing my makeup or toning – always go for lint-free cotton pads to avoid that happening.
Size: thickness of it is what influences my choice; the thicker it is, the more the product is wasted. Some of the larger ones can be cut in half easily, and the regular sized ones are good for one use.
Packaging: I’m not too particular about what packaging it comes in since I immediately put them in an air tight sealed glass jar: it looks pretty, keeps them clean and easily accessible.
Price Point: Since it’s a highly consumed product, I wouldn’t usually opt for an expensive option; but it all depends on the value I get in return.
As it stands, the Sea Pearl - Square Cotton Pads is the winner. I loved how each pad is stitched around its corner. It comes in a convenient size, where it can be used on its own, or cut in half and is not too thick. They only had the small pack (50 pads) at Carrefour and it retails for RO 0.910
If you prefer round cotton pads, I would recommend going for the Septona Regular Cotton pads (80 pads) which retails at Carrefour for RO 0.710
