Removing makeup every evening is important to keep your skin healthy and to protect it from breakouts. However, it has not been easy to do until I discovered The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing oil.
My previous routine for removing makeup was not necessarily bad: I used a makeup removing face cleanser and followed it with Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals by Nuxe to make sure I have removed all makeup traces especially around my hairline. That took an average of five minutes, left my skin clean but not very hydrated.
With the oil, however, I shake the bottle well, apply one pump of oil in the palm of my hands, and rub it in gently all over my face - focusing on my eye makeup - for less than a minute before washing it off with lukewarm water. That's it.
Removing the oil with a muslin cloth, or a damp face towel gives better results.
It leaves my skin clear of all makeup, it looks healthy and hydrated, my pores appear smaller and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue behind. Also, it is very gentle on the skin and doesn't irritate the eyes.
I use a face cleanser after it and carry on with my evening skin care routine as usual to make sure I have deep cleansed my face.
I was a little sceptical about how it'll perform on waterproof eye makeup, but as I've said it to everyone around me, it's like magic.
It is lightly scented and works well for all skin types. I was never impressed by face wipes; I feel they are harsh on the skin and never really used them. This is really a revelation for makeup removing products.
The Camomile Cleansing oil is available at The Body Shop and retails for RO 9.800.
