Those who have been following my skin journey would remember my Roaccutene treatment that i finished about a year ago. Ever since then, my goal from any skincare or makeup product has been ultimate hydration, and lots of it.
Sarah Chapman products caught my eye for their incredible ingredients and sophisticated packaging. Its always an added bonus when products are great and look nice in my bathroom.
I picked up a capsule collection of basic products from the Skinesis range to try out, especially that the price tag is more on the high end, I wanted to make sure that I enjoyed them before buying more.
The three products I bought were: Ultimate Cleanse, Dynamic Defence Moisturiser and the Overnight Facial oil.
The Ultimate Cleanse: I fell in love with it even before I used it on my face. It smells INCREDIBLE. Imagine walking into your favourite spa and getting a relaxing facial done. It is literally a spa in a bottle. It comes out of the bottle in a balm consistency and you apply it to dry skin. As you massage it into your skin, it gently melts into your pores transforming into a milk that can be easily removed with water. The first time I used it, I genuinely thought it was too gentle to have cleaned my face well. I took cotton pad with my trusted Bioderma, took it all over my face, and there was nothing left. I have also tried it on a full face of makeup and it took everything off. its also worth mentioning that before this cleanser I was using the Glam Glow Cleanser, which is incredible, but it was too harsh for my skin since I don’t have acne any more (thanks to Roaccutene).
Dynamic Defence SPF 15 Moisturiser: A gentle moisturiser with SPF 15 (not enough for my climate but added bonus) and leaves my face moisturised and ready for makeup in the morning without sticky or tacky residue. Its not the best moisturiser I have ever used but it is a good one. The scent is neutral and not at all spa like when compared to the cleansing balm.
Overnight Facial Oil: I am sold to any product that works while I'm asleep and I do have a few more much loved products that i can’t I cant wait to tell you about. Its a colourless oil formula that smells relaxing in the evening, I massage a pump of it into my face and neck and wait a minute before i got into bed to avoid it staining the pillow. I wake up with moisturised and more even toned skin in the morning. I wasn't sure if i could use it every night, but i did use it most nights in a week.
With the three products, my love/hate relationship with the packaging comes from not being able to tell when I will run out of it, just like the Glam Glow Cleanser. I was in panic when I ran out of the cleanser because i didn't have backup at the time.
When I finish a range of skincare, I always think if its worth buying them again or if I should try something new. Although i enjoyed using them, I am on the hunt of something that is more specific to my problem areas on my skin and this range felt very neutral to the issues I am facing now. I will update you on what i decide to go for next.
