If you’re looking for a solution to pigmentation, discoloration, acne leftover marks and you are patient, this is the product for you. I know deep down inside that one of the most difficult things to treat is acne scars, especially the smaller deeper ones they call ‘ice picks’ – and that is what I have. They can get better significantly with different types of laser, peeling treatments and other types. However these are costly and are usually done with a gap of 4-6 weeks, so incorporating skin care products to help your problem areas is essential.
Whenever I am online, I always find myself reading reviews on products that might help my scars or hunting down remedies on YouTube that might give me some hope. Many of them recommended the Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and I picked it up and immediately made it part of my morning and evening routine.
To be honest with you I wasn’t too convinced that it would help because how deep my scars were, they are not acne marks that needed lightning but I am always desperate for a solution. After using 60% of it , I didn’t feel that anything was changing in my skin, I didn’t stop using it because it was in my routine and it wasn't harming my skin so I guess I continued to apply it out of habit.
When I got to Italy earlier this year with my friend (you can find our travel diary to Rome & Capri here), she noticed that my skin has improved and I was picking my brain so hard trying to remember what has changed in my skin care routine. The Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution was the only thing, and I got back home continued using it and purchased my second bottle too.
At the beginning I still didn’t understand why and how it improved my skin so much but I realized two major things, first, I did have some pigmentation or discoloration where the scars were, so making them lighter helped making my skin look smoother, and secondly, the solution contains vitamin C which has been working on making my skin brighter too.
Do note that you can use the solution on any area of your body; it is definitely not limited to the face only.
I would definitely recommend it but be patient, it will take time but add it to your routine and have some faith. If you are sensitive to Vitamin C this will not work for and will probably break you out so be careful.
I am on the hunt for more professional treatments like the plasma and different lasers to help this whole acne scars situation, if you have any recommendation, please leave them down in the comments below.
