Roaccutane is a powerful drug, and it doesn’t take long for it to show clear side effects. For me, I suffer from dryness that drove me to replace almost all of my skincare products because I have normal to oily skin otherwise. This post is also relevant if you naturally have dry skin and you’re on the lookout for a good moisturizer; I have a few to recommend.
Bioderma: A brand that feels clean, medical and reliable to me. I use their micellar water religiously and the moisturizer for dry to very dry skin is great. It has pump dispenser, making it easy to use, my skin absorbs it really fast which is great and it’s not scented making it ideal for sensitive skin.
Egyptian Magic: I’ve been using this in the evenings to really hydrate my skin overnight. It’s a solid balm in the container, you scoop it out and it melts into an oily texture. It’s really thick, really sticky but really hydrating too. Wouldn’t recommend applying it during the day.
Vanicream: My skin has developed to be sensitive over the past year or so (way before I started roaccutene) and on a recent visit to the dermatologist because of an allergy; he recommended I use this lotion. I can definitely say I prefer it the most out of all moisturizers I’ve tried. It’s very light and is absorbed really quickly, not scented and perfect for sensitive skin. It also keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day and works as a great base for my makeup! What more could I ask for…
Please consider that the effect of roaccutene can be similar for many people and different with others, a doctor must be consulted for this course.
