Having my hair curled loosely is my favorite go - to hair style. It gives the impression that I’ve spent lots of time on my hair when all it takes is about 10 minutes. Overtime, my hair has stopped holding curls like it used to. I tried my reliable hair sprays, changed my curling iron and tried many products that claim to “fix” your hairstyle, with no luck… until I tried the Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray (a sea salt spray).
Sea Salt Spray products are meant to give you beautiful natural textured looking hair like you just had a swim at the beach. And you can definitely achieve that if you have normal to oily hair. I found that for dry hair (like mine) it makes my hair even drier and somewhat crispy. But when it comes to setting my curls, it is the best.
These are the step I take when using Sea Salt Spray to hold my curls longer:
I make sure my hair is completely dry (whether it air dries or by using a blow drier) and I section it starting with the lower layers of my hair.
I spray the product into my hair evenly (about 4/5 sprays per section) and let it dry for a few seconds.
Once it is absorbed into my hair, I curl the section immediately using my 32mm Jose Eber curler.
The same is repeated until I’m done with all sections.
Adding this step into my styling routine hasn’t just helped with holding the curl but with adding lots of volume too. The Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray is available at Sephora and retails for RO 10 and can be hard to find. A great alternative is the Herbivore Lavender Sea Mist which smells amazing too and retails for RO 5.900. Herbivore products are available at Boutique Muscat.
