Everything about this brand gets me excited, their packaging, business concept, instagram page…everything! I tried for the longest time to purchase an entire skincare routine for my skin type on Cult Beauty and failed every time because its always out of stock.
I asked my mom to pick them up for me from their London store and she managed to find the Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA.
Before I get into each one of them, I want to share a little bit about how the brand and its products work. The idea is to build your own skin care regimen from a variety of retinoids, vitamin C, Acids, antioxidants, hydrators and oils. Their website guides you on what you need to create your personalised regimen - click here.
Since I didn't manage to get all the items in my Wishlist, I’ll share my thoughts on the products I did get.
Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane
It aims to improve texture, fight pigmentation and fight wrinkles on the skin. And after my acne journey and the scars and spots it decided to leave, I always include a retinoid product as part of my evening routine.
After using it for a couple months, it did help with the texture of my skin and lightening the appearance of some marks. Using it in the long term will help with signs of ageing, wrinkles and fine lines, if you are struggling with that, its worth giving it a try too.
If you haven’t used Retinoids before, its recommended you start with the 1% and work you’re way up
texture : lightweight and absorbs into the skin easily
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
This is a water based serum that contains hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5. I opted for this to hydrate my skin and help with its texture. I love using it, I feel not only has it helped with hydration, my skin feels more firm after using it.
On a side note, our skin contains Hyaluronic acid but as we age it does decrease and our skin looks less firm because it cant hold as much water. So any serums you get that contain Hyaluronic acid will help with fine lines as well as the firmness of your skin.
texture: lightweight watery and a little gel like.
Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
This moisturiser claims to offer great hydrations because it contains amino acids, Hyaluronic acid and fatty acids for added surface hydration which it did but I personally didn't feel that it could replace my Clarins moisturisers. Im not into the tube packaging after a while it becomes difficult to get the product out of the tube.
texture: Not greasy at all and absorbs quickly into the skin
The best selling point of the ordinary is its price point, for how effective and customisable it is, definitely worth trying out. I’m hoping the hype calms down a little bit and I could purchase a complete skin care routine from the brand.
Hope this was helpful and if you have tried the brand before, do let me know what worked for you.
