I've been exploring different ways to do things around the house to make it not only look better but helps us achieve what we need to do more effectively. Its a never ending journey, I know, and it differs from person to person how you want to deal with things.
I will continue to update you as I discover new ways to better do things. Here we go
I have always had an issue with liquid dish washing soap being on display in kitchens. It doesn't look appealing to me, most of them are not very practical and you end up using way more than yo actually need to.
I picked up two glass jars with a pump, they look minimal and will suit any kitchen we end up having. What I love about is I can pump the soap onto the sponge, not worry that I'm using too much, its easier than squeezing the tube and it looks pretty at the sink. The second one has hand wash in it. I was eager to get a third with hand lotion but the space is small i didn't want to crowd it more.
I always find that the sponge doesn't really have a home and everything I find for it at home stores doesn't look nice or is a house of plastic and the sponge does breathe while its in it. I picked up the marble soap dish from Home centre and I love it. its the perfect size, it looks nice next to the sink and is easy to clean.
Camera & Lens display
I have our cameras and lenses on display in the lounge. 1. because I have no idea where to store them without cramming them in a cupboard 2. It reminds me of the lenses and cameras we have so i can easily pick them up and enjoy them. One day when I have an office I’ll probably move them there, but for now, they are part of the decor
My friends and family know how much I love plants but how quick they give up on life in our home. so I have opted for eucalyptus to add some green in our lounge and dinning area. I love the rustic look that it adds, it smells nice and its doesn't require any attention from me. Its a win-win situation. Lavender is amazing too but I don't have any at the moment.
This is not a hack really but I had to share it with you. I love having clear countertops in the kitchen. I was on the hunt for a decent looking bread box and I found the perfect one with a marble effect at ID Design. It is beautiful and all our bread can be nicely stored in it.
I am struggling with appliances around the kitchen, the grill, Nutribullet, kettle…Yousuf must thing I'm crazy for wanting to store them all in but if you have any practical ways to deal with them please do let me know.
