Before getting into this post, I'll warn you that its going to be a long and chatty one....here we go...Like many of you, having clear skin has been on my agenda for about 10 years now – and I think I finally figured out a plan that will help me get there. When I first thought of telling you about this journey, I planned on doing it on a monthly update basis, and then realized, what if it doesn’t work for; it would have been a waste of your time. Now that I am 4 months into my Roaccutene course (and the plan to the best skin I can) I can finally start sharing what’s been going on.
When I first finished high school, I noticed that my acne was problematic and that it was leaving scars on my cheeks especially. I consulted a dermatologist for the first time during my second year of university and he prescribed a course of Roaccutene. I was definitely skeptical because of all the side effects feedback I have heard but decided to give it a shot…it worked like magic. Although it came with severe dehydration and dry skin issues – it was worth it.
I then tried dealing with the scars left behind – with no luck; I still never gave up. I visited at least 9 or 10 doctors since I graduated and none have offered me a solution for the scars.
Almost ten years after my first Roaccutene course, I started getting acne again, on my check, jaw and neck early this year. I immediately took an appointment with a dermatologist and he advised that I get on Roaccutene for a course to really control the situation…and so I did…again. After I complete the course, I need to take a one month gap, then start treating the scars...this time, I've been told 90% of the scars can be resolved...ill keep you posted for sure
This time, the dosage was much less than what I took in my teen years and so are the effects (it’s still not easy to deal with but it can be done!). I’ve now completed 4 months and getting into the 5th. To avoid making this post any longer, I will be releasing this in a series to share what Roaccutene is, skincare products I’ve used during the treatment, other treatments I’ve done for the scarring as well as makeup I’ve been using.
Please share your Roaccutene experience below with any tips and tricks and let me know if there is something specific you would like me to write about.
