I’m still not sure how I've managed to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to get to work every morning for the past 8 years; this has definitely turned me into a morning person over the years. I realized though, that certain things have become part of my evening rituals and have helped me make my mornings easier. I hope sharing them with you will help you with your mornings – especially if you’re not a morning person.
1. Take long showers or a bath in the evening
Adding bath salts and essential oils to my baths really helps me sleep better and wake up more relaxed.
2. Pick out my outfits
I always spend time in the evenings deciding what I’m going to wear the next day. It really saves time in the morning when you just have to put your clothes on and you’re ready to go.
3. Fill up the tank
A trip to the petrol station at rush hour is the worst way to start your morning. I always make sure it’s over a quarter of a tank full at least so I don’t need to make that detour.
4. Safekeeping my Keys
Placing my car keys in the same spot every evening makes sure I don’t waste any time looking for them in the morning – clumsy alert.
5. Frizzy Hair Problems
With my kinda hair, I need to prep it in the evening either straighten it, curl it or braid it loosely to make sure I don’t need to style it too much at half past five in the morning!
6. Warm Milk
And finally, having warm milk in the evening relaxes me as I watch a sitcom or read a book to put me to sleep. If I’m not having milk, chamomile tea does the trick and puts me to sleep soon after.
I hope sharing my evening rituals helps with yours. Please share any tips you have for saving time in the morning.
