As we approach the end of 2014, an overwhelming realisation of how eventful and busy it has been, meant that I need to take some time off to destress. I have always squeezed in spa treatments during the week, and between errands, but that defeated the point. This time, I did it right. I booked myself two treatments at The Spa at The Chedi Muscat over the weekend to really get away.
Arriving at a beautiful hotel as The Chedi with the breathtaking view of the sea was a start to beautiful Friday. Before you are taken to the treatment room, a therapist gives you a brief form of questions related to your health, and your preferences. As part of the introduction, a sample tray of the all the different scents of scrubs and oils are available for you to choose from, based on your preferences.
The treatment room is designed in the same signature theme of The Chedi Muscat, with relaxing ambience and possibly the most spacious treatment room I have ever been to (which includes a Jacuzzi, a steam shower, a washroom, and the massage bed). A refreshing lime cinnamon drink, cold towel and a foot scrub to kick it all off.
Here is a breakdown of the two treatments I had:
Treatment: Arabian Sea Wave Massage
Duration: 90 minutes
A full body massage for stress relieving and unwinding , the therapist uses a specialised technique, that imitates the movement of the sea waves starting from your head all the way to your toes. The technique focuses on using the arms as well as hands, and the combination with the special oil relaxes every muscle in your body. During the treatment, a cooling eye mask was placed on my eyes, to soothe them and block all light for the ultimate experience.
The perfect massage was followed by a refreshing facial.
Treatment: Organic Naturelle D’Orient Facial
Duration: 30 minutes
I am currently going through an extensive treatment for my skin at Obagi, my face has started to peal and is getting dehydrated from the treatment. The facial I chose was mild, and is great for sensitive skin. VOYA's anti-ageing products were used. The express facial was gentle and restored hydration into my skin.
After the treatments were over, a steam shower was prepared for me, and the relaxing lounge with an infinity view of the sea awaited me with a relaxing cup of chamomile tea.
The Spa offers treatments for couples as well, with a fully equipped treatment room for two. They are also running a promotion where you receive a free treatment with any 90 minute treatment you choose.
The Spa is located at The Chedi Muscat in Al Ghubra. The cost of the Arabian Sea Wave massage is RO 60 and as part of their running promotion, the Organic Naturelle D’Orient Facial was complimentary. The promotion ends on the 20th December 2014.
