After posting “A Muscat Week | One “and mentioning the lash extensions I got done; many of you sent me messages for more details. And here it is!
The idea behind Nouveau Lashes is to provide the client with natural looking lashes in terms of length and thickness. So if you are looking for outrageous length and volume for your lashes, this is definitely not for you.
I booked my appointment about a week in advance, and made sure I was free that afternoon since the session takes 2 – 2.5 hours. The technician, Jennifer, was lovely and spent time explaining the procedure and the dos and donts after the treatment then we got started.
All my eyes make up was removed very well and the eye area was cleansed before starting and gel pads were placed under my eyes to protect the lower lashes and lower part of the eye. Jennifer then took her time placing individual lashes along my lash line. The first hour and a half was fine but I started to get a little edgy after that; the procedure is definitely painless but long.
Before applying the sealant (a product to seal the glue on the lash) I checked to see if I was happy or whether I needed her to make any changes, it was all perfect and the sealant was applied. I purchased the sealant to increase the longevity of my extensions, and apply it every night before I got to bed to my lashes.
Nouveau lashes last up to three months and require you to go for a refill every three weeks – I’ll update you on that when I go next week.
The most important things to follow for the lash extensions to last longer would be:
Don’t use water proof eye makeup
Don’t apply mascara on your lash extensions
Don’t use oil based make up remover or products
And don’t stay in the steam for too long.
It was advised to let my lashes rest for at least 4 weeks after removing them in order to protect my natural lashes.
